We set about creating a multi-platform resource tool for owners of Toyota vehicles. It gives you a helping hand with your vehicle, allowing you to keep track of any and all valuable data coming out of your car. Allowing you to use that data to help manage the relationship between your car, your service center, and your wallet.

There were a lot of moving pieces on this one, it was an exercise in organization.

Design
To prove that people loved the Whopper, we decided to take it away. Whopper Freakout was a fun real world social experiment, but what most people don’t know is that there was a companion interactive social experiment that never saw the light of day. Surrogate Freakout was supposed to launch alongside the broadcast, and allow people to anonymously freak out on their friends over the most mundane things (“that sweater is ugly”, “please shower more than once a week”).

The anonymity of the project spooked the lawyers, and since that was the whole point of the site, the partner piece was killed off. So unfortunately the main interactive component for Whopper Freakout ended up being essentially a glorified video player, that was not the original intent.

Design
Whopperettes was the first project I was involved with at Crispin, taking over the visual portion of the site mid stream in the project. A fun little site to re-enforce the "Have it Your Way" mantra, you could build your own Whopper using beautiful dancing starlets dressed up as the various ingredients. One of the interesting pieces of the site was actually the entry screen. You typed in your name, and after selecting your Whopper ingredients, the announcer included your name as part of the intro. A very small detail, but I think we recorded about 10,000 different names (I believe Bort was one of them).

CPB tended to go a little overboard when it came to company parties. Every party had a theme, and costumes were pretty much mandatory. One year we threw a super hero themed holiday party, and to announce the party, we created a very complex invite, The Hero Factory. The site was a fully functioning configurator, allowing you to build your own hero, adjusting their looks and powers. Once finished configuring your hero, the site named your hero and gave you your very own comic cover. This project somehow went from being completely non-existent to fully realized concept in just two sleepless weeks, and even more amazing is that it's still running.

Art Direction / Design
For a period of time, we were infatuated with interactive machines at CPB. We built all kinds of weird contraptions for almost every client, so why not make one of ourselves. Designed and built as a holiday card to mess with employees, the Thanks-o-Matic was made to look as is the buttons and dials actually had an affect on the gift you received. In reality, the functionality didn’t affect a thing, and hitting the “submit” button trigger the site to be “blocked” by the companies censoring software (which had been terrorizing employees for weeks). The site was more of a social experiment to see how annoyed we could make our employees, before we won back their love with shiny gifts. 

Art Direction / Design / Retouching
We knew when we set to redesign Volkswagens online configurator, we wanted to create the best one that existed. We ended up creating a piece that was a functional tool, that became advertising. VW Features was a new generation of configurator, insanely complex and expensive, we rendered every single configurable piece on and off every single model in the lineup.

For at least the first few models, once the user was done building their car, they were rewarded with the opportunity to use their newly customized car in an interesting way (which ended up tying into campaigns). So for the Jetta, we allowed you to test crash your car into fun objects. For the GTI, we let you race it around an autocross track. For the Rabbit, we let you mate it with other Rabbits, then see what your offspring would look like. Super functional, and fun.

Art Direction / Design
Sites created by all the various dealers were creating a bit of a problem for VW. The dealers created pretty much whatever they wanted with pretty much no oversight from VW corporate, so they weren't visually or tonally in line with the brand. So we worked to create a more consistent look and feel across their dealer network, as well as giving them tools to make their lives a little easier. Everything was created in a template layout, with dealers being able to select where all their various widgets went. Allowing them to still have a bit of control over their online presence. 

Design
Man Laws was a campaign created to offer a counterpoint to the burgeoning metro-sexual movement. The broadcast component had the Men of the Square Table gather together, voting to approve or disapprove the laws of men. Manlaws.com was created as an online resource for men of all backgrounds to come together and decide what was a “Man Law”, and what wasn’t. Using a wiki format, laws were submitted and debated in real time. Creating a constant manly conversation.

Art Direction / Design 
For Sublymonal.com, we created an exceptionally complex, fully functional, video editing tool, that allowed users to edit together clips from a catalogue of Sublymonal video and clips we provided. Our video tool allowed for multiple timelines and audio channels, allowing users to build their own “Ultimate Subliminal Message” videos and upload them for judging. Realizing we probably went a little bit overboard on the functionality of the video editor, we also created an “easy” mode editor, which took it even further overboard.

A teaser campaign for a new cow themed lottery game from the Maryland Lottery, Bovine Unite was created to be purposely misleading. Multiple sites, videos, banners, games, and traditional pieces were created to help the illusion along. For most of it’s existence, people assumed it was a Chick-fil-A campaign, which probably helped it’s exposure.
